Since 1978 we had provided quality child care in our home. Recognizing the increased need in the community for the same quality, nurturing child care, we decided to expand to a small child care center operating on the same principles which earned us our excellent reputation. The tradition continues, as today we care for the children of the children we welcomed into our home years ago.
The Nest opened its doors in April 1998. While we adhere to the regulations mandated by the Office of Child and Family Services, we have also tried to preserve a home environment. The Nest consists of five rooms and is licensed to accommodate 62 children ages six weeks to five years of age. We have an infant room, two toddler rooms, a pre-school room and a kindergarten readiness program. We are located on 1.5 acres in the heart of Cold Spring. Our location allows us to explore our village and the many experiences within it. Outside time is a big component of our program for all ages, and our 5,000 square foot play yard provides opportunities for large and small motor activities.
The qualified staff at The Nest will assure that your child will feel safe and secure and enjoy lots of love and nurturing care. We realize all children are special and unique and we will strive to encourage their individuality and help them build their own self-esteem. Our program will promote optimal social, physical, intellectual & emotional growth. In a child’s world exploring and playing are very important “work”, The Nest helps them accomplish this through unstructured activities which keeps the children challenged and allows them to develop at their own rate. Providing excellent care, age-appropriate learning experiences, and keeping the children happy and content is our primary concern. An important objective is to establish a partnership with the parents/guardians. Ongoing communication between parents and teachers is vital to our program to ensure that we meet your expectations and provide you with peace of mind.
Thank you for your interest in our program.
